For an Xbox 360, the best resolution is 1080p, so an HDTV that offers this resolution will be what you want. An HDTV-Ready television does not have a built-in HD receiver, while an HDTV does. Look at the picture quality of different sets and determine the best one for your needs -and voila!

They are talking about lines of resolution. Hdtv has 1080×720 , and new ones are 1920×1080 lines of resolution. HD ready tv’s arent worth buying. 2009 all over the air broadcast will be HD. If you are going to play video games you should get a DLP tv, or projector. LCD and Plasma could leave burn in images over time. I have a RCA scenium 61″ DLP and play xbox on it. DLP’s wont burn in on your screen. DLP wont hang on your wall though. A projector is something to think about if its for a dedicated room. With a projector you need to keep the room somewhat dark. I believe that the burn in on the Plasma and LCD are if you have images on there for hours at a time .
HD Ready does not have a HD tuner included in the TV making it CHEAPER. If you have Cable or Satelite TV service, then HD Ready is better as it’s CHEAPER. If you are going to use over the air HD from your local ABC, CBS, PBS, etc, actual HDTV is generally better.
The xbox360 works great with all HD formats. Most games are in 760i or p natively, so don’t kill yourself looking for a TV that does native 1080p.
