Should I Pair My Sony Hdtv With A Sony Branded Blu Ray?

I just bought a 46″ Sony LCD TV, and am now shopping for a Blu Ray player. The salesperson told me it’d be best to stick with the Sony brand for Blu Ray, as the TV and the Blu Ray player “talked” to each other. Can anyone explain what exactly the advantage would be to having a mutually branded TV and Blu Ray player?

it shouldn’t really matter. By buying a Sony brand Blu-Ray player it would just be easier to set up and more compatible. Plus Sony invented Blu-Ray..i think? But yeah just easier set-up and no problems

I don’t think it would make the slightest bit of different.
I suppose that one remote might work controlling both to get rid of a remote that’s about the only benefit I can think off.
I’d still go the PS3 route and stick it in a cupboard because of the extra bit of noise from the harddisk and use a bluetooth remote control with it.

    stick with the sony
have you heard of you get what you pay for
just buy a sony bdp-s350 and you will be a very happy camper
get it off ebay or amazon and you will save 25 to 50 bucks rather than going to a store and you are still getting a brand new one so its a win win

there would be no difference in look or sound other than you will have 2 sony products and it will look like your obsessed but sony makes good products you can go with any other brand and it will be exactly the same

Buying a Sony Blu-ray player will allow you to use just one remote, but Sony doesn’t make the best Blu-ray players. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with the BDP-S350, it’s just that Samsung has better players (i.e. BD-P1600).
