Looking For The Best Way To Connect Directv Hd, Sony Hdtv & Dvd Surround Sound System?

Can I connect using all HDMI connections? If so, how should I configure? There are (2 HDMI inputs) on the HDTV; (1 HDMI output) on the Satellite HD DirecTV and (1 HDMI output) on the Sony DAV – FX900W DVD Surround sound system. If this isn’t feasible, what’s the best way to configure and what type of connections should I use?

You can connect the Sony DAV – FX900W DVD HDMI output directly to the TV HDMI input. You can also connect the DirecTv HDMI output to the other TV HDMI input. Then you will need to connect either an optical or digital SPDIF cable from the output of the DirecTv HD to a free input on the Sony DAV – FX900W . This will give you a killer picture, as well as 5.1 sound from both the DVD and the Satellite.

Get an HDMI switcher with more HDMI connections. Here’s an example…

the least amount of connections are as follows if sat has digital coax PCM out.
    1) HDMI from Sat to TV,
    2)HDMI from DVD RECto TV
    3) PCM from Sat to DVD REC
shoud be good unless you use analog inputs on TV you’ll need audio cables for that as well as video.

I assumed you would have already gotten lots of replies!
HDMI is best. HDMI->DVI is second best, but you have to run audio cable too. Anything less is not going to give you the best hd.
Since you want to run the audio to the sss, you probably want to connect using toslink(the digital audio) to the sss.
