How To Hook Up A Acer Laptop To A Sony Bravia Hdtv?

We just bought a Sony Bravia HDTV and would like to watch movies on it via our acer HD laptop (which has blue ray build in) we have a HDMI cable and have plugged it in and the to the tv and laptop but it only says no signal?? any suggestions??

    Sony is the only manufacturer who does this. You must select the HDMI option in. You can find it by going into the menu/video option.
    It drives me crazy they do this because it is not on all models either.

    Which operating system are you using? You have to do something like this, go to
    (Win 7 insturctions should be similar in all Operating Systems)
    [start] -> [all programs] -> [accessories] -> [Connect to a Projector] and follow the on screen instructions
    Try that and I hope you have some luck basically you need to tell it to output to the HDMI port (which is I think there for a projector) that is how I got my laptop to use Svideo out to hook into my projector. Hope I helped!

    See if theres a way to activate the HDMI if it hasnt been used before maybe its dormant
