there are only 2 methods to connect HD to your HD ready display. 1. is with an HDMI connector, this passes digital video and audio and is the simplest way to go. If your HD ready set is older, it might not have the HDMI connection, then go with method 2. This requires 5 RCA cables, 2 for stereo audio, 3 for component video. The component video is usually marked Y, PB, PR, be sure that you make corresponding connections to both devices or the color will be reversed.
if you use other methods, the connection will be only SD and you won’t see the best picture your HD display can deliver.
